Love Is…

March 31, 2010

Even if you are not intimately familiar with The Maestro’s catalogue, chances are, depending on your age you were conceived to it. There is arguably no other artist in R&B/Pop history that exemplified “Love” more than Barrence Eugene Carter, otherwise known to us as Barry White. He even created a theme for it (“Love’s Theme”). In addition, he produced 106 gold and 41 platinum albums, 20 gold and ten platinum singles, with worldwide sales in excess of 100 million. Big stats for a big man whose influence and legacy cannot be measured. Walk with us as we wade through the Walrus of Love’s career, from his stint in jail as a youth to his breakout success not only as a singer, but as a prolific producer and arranger. Gone but never forgotten, the Icon is still Love.
